This R-Type Bentley is a right-hand drive Standard Saloon with an automatic gearbox. A complete history of the car is included, listing each owner, original Build Sheet specifics and maintenance/repairs performed from when the car was new. All the original tools are still in place. Starting in 1997, it became the subject of a complete restoration effort, which eventually included every component. A true nut-and-bolt restoration, using genuine parts ordered from London. The car became the subject of several technical articles published in the Rolls-Royce Owner Club's magazine, The Flying Lady. It is powered by a 4,566cc 6-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission.

Major improvements within the last 5,000 miles include the engine and carburetors being overhauled, and the distributer received correct new bushings. A new engine flywheel was fitted, along with new fuel pump and new radiator core. The Rolls-Royce automatic transmission was rebuilt, and the rear axle/differential was overhauled, using new bearings and seals throughout. The entire brake system was rebuilt. Overhaul of the Bijur lubrication system included replacement of worn drip plugs and drip testing of the entire system. Rear springs were removed, tested, re-arched and fitted with new leather gaiters. All four shock dampers were rebuilt.

All body mount rubber bushings were replaced with correct new units. The fuel tank was removed, thoroughly cleaned and repainted. Sender unit was tested and the filter renewed. The exhaust system was completely rebuilt using new Rolls-Royce silencers and stainless pipes. The front suspension and steering received complete overhaul, using new kingpins, bushings and rubbers. All wheel bearings were replaced with new and correct units. The wheel rims were powder-coated and tested for run-out. All bodywork and paintwork was completed in the original colors of silver and black pearl. The interior leather was replaced using beige Connelly hides, as original.

New wool carpeting and headliner were used, along with new silk for the rear window shade.
