Luxurious grand-touring heritage and competitive performance converge in this low-mileage example in the exclusive lineage of Aston Martin automobiles deemed worthy to carry the Vantage name. The garage-kept Vantage shows just 8,520 miles on its odometer and carries on the Vantage tradition from its Monaco Blue exterior and complementary Sandstorm interior to its highly detailed undercarriage. Aston Martin originally launched the V-8 Vantage in 1977 and constructed just 458 examples through 1990. The name resurfaced in 1993 and was bestowed to just 288 examples through 2000, until the Geneva Motor Show marked the return of the vaunted name in 2006.
The hand-assembled 4.3L Aston Martin V-8 engine channels 380 HP and more than 300 lb-ft of torque from its front-mounted position through a 6-speed manual transmission in the rear-mounted transaxle for near perfect 49-percent front to 51-percent rear weight distribution. Tubi Italian-made aftermarket exhaust insures maximum flow and sound from quad overhead camshafts and 32 valves. The chassis is comprised of bonded magnesium alloys and composite materials that bring strength and rigidity without added weight of conventional manufacturing. The Vantage can launch from 0-60 MPH in less than 5-seconds and hit 175 MPH top speed.
Traditional English craftsmanship and the finest materials come together in the hand-stitched and hand-assembled interior from the suede headliner to leather-wrapped steering wheel and six-way power-adjustable leather bucket seats. Aluminum controls for on-board navigation and glass pushbutton engine start are finished with jewel precision. The rear tailgate opens to provide stowage for extended road excursions with room for everything from luggage to golf bags. The Vantage stands ready to carve up road-race courses or coastal highways with equal aplomb on factory chrome-finish forged-alloy wheels and Bridgestone Potenza tires.
