Gorgeous DB7 Vantage Volante with just over 23,000 miles, extensive maintenance history and a recent cosmetic refresh at Aston Works. At the Geneva Motor Show in 1999, Aston Martin introduced the long awaited Vantage version of their successful DB7. Sporting a Cosworth-designed, 5.9-litre V12 producing a smooth 420bhp, the car was super quick and was electronically limited to 185mph. The V12 had a serious appetite for air compared to its six-cylinder predecessor, demanding a larger intake and other modifications to the frontal airflow were made to aid cooling.
Other changes included chassis and braking upgrades to cope with the increased performance, and Ian Callum enlarged the grille, added fog lamps and restyled the valances to give the car a more purposeful look. The Vantage interior leather trim was cut and sewn at a special trim shop at Newport Pagnell, where the carpet and wood veneers were also prepared. The 5.9-litre V12 Vantage Volante, costing over £100,000 at its launch, remained in production until 2004. Finished in Antrim Blue Mica with a cream leather interior complemented by contrasting blue piping, carpets and blue leather trim, this striking DB7 Vantage Volante manual displayed just 23,034 miles at the time of cataloguing.
Our vendor purchased the Vantage in 2020, since then it has been in the care of either Vantage Engineering or Aston Workshop. Pleasingly the service book shows 13 stamps in addition to the pre-delivery inspection and subsequent invoices detail more recent routine servicing and maintenance alongside it’s green leather bound owners guide. Sparingly exercised with our vendor purchasing the Aston at c.18,000 miles, it is presented for sale with an MOT valid until September 2026 showing no advisories. In January 2022, at 22,269 miles, the DB7 underwent a substantial cosmetic refresh with Aston Workshop.
The bonnet, front wings and bumper were refinished, complemented by a full machine polish and detailing to restore the car’s factory lustre. Mechanical attention included replacement of the power-steering reservoir, air-conditioning compressor and battery, a full service and the fitment of a sports exhaust. The invoice totalled £8,714.26 bringing the DB7 back to a factory-fresh look. The DB7 will also be offered with a fresh service from Aston Workshop.
