The Aston Martin name summons over a century long tradition of utmost performance and hand-crafted personal luxury. The postwar collaboration between Sir David Brown of Aston Martin and Lagonda resulted in the establishment of the Grand Touring DB-series automobiles with the production DB2 in 1950. This 2014 Aston Martin DB9 carries on the DB-series lineage with a V-12 engine under the long hood combined with the high level of sporting personal appointments that could only come from Aston Martin. This outstanding Stratus White DB9 coupe has been driven a mere 1,100 actual miles since new. At the heart of the DB9 is a 6.0-liter V-12 engine.
With quad overhead camshafts and 24-valves the engine is rated for 510 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 457 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 RPM. The V-12 engine is mounted for optimal weight balance and is backed by a 6-speed Touchtronic II transmission driving the rear wheels. The stainless steel exhaust system features active bypass valves for on-demand variable exhaust flow and sound output. The Aston Martin bonded aluminum VH chassis and 4-wheel independent double wishbones suspension is equipped with 3-stage adaptive damping control. Carbon ceramic vented disc brakes lurk behind 20-inch diamond-turned factory wheels. Under bonnet performance is met by style and luxury.
The Henrik Fisker designed Aston Martin DB9 made its debut in 2004 at the Frankfurt Motor Show with traditional styling elements such as the signature front grille and side strakes joined by cutting edge materials and modern design. As such this DB9 sports the carbon fiber package for minimum weight and maximum strength. The Cream Truffle leather interior is befitting of an Aston Martin with hand-stitched upholstery and finely crafted walnut veneers. Glass faced control switches add a tactile finishing touch of luxury to this Grand Touring icon that boasted an original MSRP of $210,332.
