La 2600 Sprint correspond à la dernière Alfa Romeo bénéficiant d'un six-cylindres en ligne double arbre, une configuration qui a fait les beaux jours de la marque en compétition. Amoureux de belles italiennes, son actuel propriétaire en fait l'acquisition en septembre 2015 auprès de Nael Auto Classic, peu de temps après qu'elle fut vendue par Artcurial Motorcars en février 2014 lors de la célèbre vente de Rétromobile à Paris. Le catalogue de l'époque précisait d'importants éléments historiques. En effet, d'après les archives Alfa Romeo, ce coupé 2600 Sprint est sorti d'usine le 10 avril 1964, avant d'être vendu le 14 juin de la même année à Alfa Romeo Inc., à Newark, aux États-Unis.
Au cours des années 2000 un des membres actifs du club Alfa Romeo américain va entreprendre une restauration complète de ce coupé Sprint, sans considération de coût. Ce coupé sera d'ailleurs primé en 2007, recevant le "Certificato d'Oro" décerné par l'Alfa Romeo Owners Club pour "l'excellence de la restauration et de la préservation d'une Alfa Romeo" et il reçut d'autres trophées à d'autres occasions. Parfaitement choyée depuis, la voiture est toujours dans un très bel état de présentation avec ses superbes jantes Borrani à rayons restaurées à l'époque et son accueillante sellerie de cuir noir rehaussés de sur-tapis gris avec passepoil noir.
Depuis son acquisition, notre propriétaire a procédé à son entretien mécanique avec notamment le remplacement de la pompe à essence et du régulateur de pression, la pose d'un allumeur électronique, le remplacement du boitier de direction, la réfection des carburateurs, de l'arbre de transmission et de l'émetteur récepteur d'embrayage. Enfin les compteurs en miles ont été remplacés par des compteurs en km. Avec sa ligne signée Bertone, son six-cylindres en ligne double arbre et son habitacle capable d'accueillir quatre adultes, ce haut de gamme italien est une vraie GT, combinant confort et sportivité. Notre exemplaire dispose de solides arguments pour séduire le collectionneur exigeant.

The 2600 Sprint is the last Alfa Romeo to benefit from a dual overhead straight-six engine, a configuration that has brought much success to the brand in competitive racing. As an enthusiast of beautiful Italian cars, its current owner acquired it in September 2015 from Nael Auto Classic, shortly after it was sold by Artcurial Motorcars in February 2014 at the famous Retromobile sale in Paris. The catalogue of this sale highlighted important historical elements.
According to Alfa Romeo archives, this 2600 Sprint Coupe has indeed left the factory on 10 April 1964, before being sold on 14 June of that same year to Alfa Romeo Inc. in Newark, United States. During the years 2000, one of the active members of the American Alfa Romeo club carried out a full restoration of this Sprint coupe, regardless of the cost. This coupe will in fact be awarded in 2007, receiving the "Certificato d'Oro" award by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club in the "Restoration & preservation excellence of an Alfa Romeo" category. It also won more trophies in other categories.
Perfectly pampered since then, the car remains in excellent overall condition with its superb Borrani spoked wheels restored at the time and its welcoming black leather upholstery combined with grey carpets and black piping. Since its acquisition, our owner has carried out a mechanical service, including the replacement of the fuel pump and pressure regulator, the installation of an electronic ignition, the replacement of the steering unit, the repair of carburettors, the drive shaft and the clutch transmitter. Finally, the odometer has been changed from miles to km.
With its Bertone design, its dual overhead straight-six engine and its interior capable of seating four people, this high-end Italian car is a true GT, combining comfort and sportiness. This car has strong arguments to appeal to a meticulous collector.
