The Alfa Romeo Alfetta—translated literally as “little Alfa Romeo”—began in saloon form when the Berlina launched in 1972. The platform was adapted for the introduction of the Alfetta GT in 1974, which took a two-door, four-seat, fastback coupé shape. Initial styling was overseen by Giorgetto Giugiaro while working for Italdesign, prompting the Alfetta to cut an attractive shape that has aged with great refinement. Selected exterior design details are shared with the fabled Alfa Romeo Montreal, such as its bonnet line and door shape, thanks to its coinciding production run. The GTV is perhaps the connoisseur’s choice of the Alfetta model range, receiving a 2.0-litre engine that improves on the 1.6-litre unit found in the GT.
The Alfetta GTV offered here was delivered new to Porcia, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy. The Alfa Romeo was finished by the factory with an exterior shade of Biancospino, which it retains to this day, complemented by a Velluto Verde (green velvet) interior. The Alfetta now wears a beige cloth interior. The car has been retained by The Curated Collection since 2015, and is offered with a copy of its production register record issued by Museo Storico Alfa Romeo, which confirms that this stylish coupé retains its matching-numbers chassis and engine.
L'Alfa Romeo Alfetta —"petite Alfa Romeo" au sens littéral — est apparue sous la forme d'une berline avec la présentation en 1972 de la Berlina. La plateforme a été adaptée pour le lancement en 1974 de l'Alfetta GT, un coupé fastback à quatre places. Le dessin de la voiture a été supervisé par Giorgetto Giugiaro qui travaillait chez Italdesign, débouchant sur une ligne attrayante qui supporte les années avec beaucoup de raffinement. Certains détails rappellent la célèbre Alfa Romeo Montreal, comme la ligne de capot et le dessin des portes, les deux modèles ayant été produits à la même période. La GTV est peut-être le choix du connaisseur dans la gamme Alfetta, avec son moteur 2 litres plus puissant que le 1,6 litre de la version GT.
L'Alfetta GTV proposée ici a été livrée neuve à Porcia, dans la région du Frioul-Vénétie Julienne, en Italie. Elle a reçu à l'usine la couleur extérieure "Biancospino" qui est encore la sienne aujourd'hui, avec un intérieur "Velluto Verde" (velours vert). Elle est aujourd'hui dotée d'une sellerie en tissu beige. La voiture fait partie de "The Curated Collection" depuis 2015, et elle est vendue avec une copie de sa fiche de production délivrée par le Museo Storico Alfa Romeo, qui confirme que cet élégant coupé est équipé de son châssis et de son moteur d'origine (numéros concordants).
