This beautiful 2003 Acura NSX-T is an exceptional low-mileage example—only 8,500 original miles—and as serial No. 00001, was the first production example built in 2003. The NSX is a mid-engine sports car designed and built by Honda. It was the first mass-produced car to feature an all-aluminum body. The car was powered by a V-6 engine with VTEC—Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control—a system developed by Honda that revolutionized engine design. During its later stages of development, the car was tested by the legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna to provide feedback and direction for final suspension tuning.
The automotive press was captivated by the NSX citing tenacious grip, comfortable ride, exceptional build quality and a smooth powertrain as the hallmarks of Acura engineering and design. Within the Acura NSX community, the model years 2002-05 are considered the most desirable. Model Year 2002 introduced the stylistic facelift, which really modernized the design and made the car look contemporary and proper even by today’s standards. The model-year 2002 was also the recipient of several key improvements made in previous model years. In 1995, the Targa-style removable top replaced the fixed coupe giving Acura NSX owners the choice of either closed or “alfresco” motoring.
In 1997, Acura introduced the larger engine, which increased displacement from its original 3.0L to that of 3.2L, boosting both horsepower and drivability. Only the 2002-05 model years of the NSX have all the aforementioned improvements in totality, and consequently, are highly coveted within the NSX community. This NSX-T is loaded with power windows, power door locks, cruise control, climate control, a tilt/telescopic column, HID headlights and an Acura/Bose premium sound system. The first-production 2003 NSX-T is well documented and comes complete with the original window sticker, service records, books and keys.
