Toyota has unveiled the refreshed 2027 Sequoia, bringing a series of updates that mirror those recently introduced on the Tundra. While the exterior receives subtle styling revisions, the biggest news is the arrival of the Trailhunter trim, giving Toyota's full-size SUV even stronger off-road credentials.

Built on the same TNGA-F platform as the Tundra, the Sequoia continues to offer Toyota's available hybrid powertrain while adopting a redesigned front fascia. A larger grille, revised lower bumper, and newly integrated rectangular fog lights give the SUV a more commanding appearance without dramatically changing its overall design.

The new Trailhunter model is based on the SR5 trim but adds serious hardware for adventure enthusiasts. It features an Old Man Emu suspension developed by the renowned Australian specialist, along with Michelin LTX Trail 265/70R-18 tires, front recovery hooks, additional skid protection, and a locking rear differential. Toyota also equips the SUV with Multi-Terrain Select drive modes and Crawl Control, while bronze wheels and exclusive Trailhunter badging distinguish it from the rest of the lineup.

Technology receives a welcome upgrade as well. Every 2027 Sequoia now comes standard with a 14-inch touchscreen, replacing the previous 8-inch display on the entry-level SR5. The latest Toyota infotainment system introduces enhanced voice controls and includes a built-in dash camera capable of recording 20-second video clips.

Toyota has also updated its Safety Sense 4.0 package with improved sensors and detection capabilities, further enhancing adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and high-beam assistance. Across the range, buyers can now also choose brighter grille-mounted LED light bars, RIGID fog lights, and front recovery hooks.

The 2027 Sequoia will continue to be available in SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, TRD Pro, and Capstone trims. Pricing and complete specifications will be announced before the SUV reaches dealerships later this fall.
