    Porsche Built a One-Off Slant-Nose 911

Porsche spent three years transforming a 2018 911 GT2 RS into the Porsche Flachbau RS, a road-legal one-off inspired by the legendary “Moby Dick” flat-nose design. Created by Porsche’s Sonderwunsch division with help from Manthey engineers, the project features a reshaped front end, ultra-thin LED headlights, and a huge rear wing. At 211 mph / 340 kph, that wing generates an incredible 1,221 lbs / 554 kg of downforce over the rear axle. Under the dramatic bodywork sits the original 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six, producing 700 hp / 710 PS. The owner clearly valued performance over comfort. Porsche removed the stereo, satellite navigation, and sound insulation, cutting nearly 70 lbs / 32 kg from the car. The result is an exceptionally loud, raw machine that brings classic slant-nose styling into the modern era. Would you want Porsche to offer road-legal slant-nose conversions for modern 911s? Or should designs like this remain rare one-off creations? And would you really give up the radio for 70 pounds of weight savings?

Singer and Louis Vuitton Create Luxury 911s

Singer has teamed up with French luxury giant Louis Vuitton to create two exceptionally elaborate Porsche 911 reimaginations based on the 964 generation. The pair consists of a Singer Classic and a Singer Classic Turbo, each receiving bespoke styling, exclusive colors, and a remarkable collection of LV-inspired details. The Singer Classic wears a striking saffron-and-cobalt-blue exterior and features a roof rack designed to carry a luggage trunk, surfboard, or skis. The Classic Turbo Cabriolet takes a different approach, combining limestone and gold tones inspired by the stonework of Paris. Inside, the Turbo gets perhaps the most unusual feature: a Tambour dashboard clock inspired by Louis Vuitton's famous watch. It can even be removed and used as a desk clock. A matching 40mm Tambour Automatic watch in ceramic and yellow gold is included, while Louis Vuitton designers reportedly spent a full year refining the Porsche's gauges. The luxury treatment goes much further. The Classic Turbo comes with a custom silk suit, driving gloves, sneakers, sunglasses, helmet, and bespoke luggage designed for the front trunk. Is this the most extravagant way to enjoy a classic 911? Underneath, the Classic uses a 4.0-liter flat-six producing 420 horsepower, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and carbon-ceramic brakes. The rear-wheel-drive setup also features water-cooled heads and air-cooled cylinders. The Classic Turbo gets a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six with air-to-water intercooling, a six-speed manual gearbox, carbon-ceramic brakes, and selectable drive modes. Exact output hasn't been confirmed, but it could make around 510 horsepower. Neither car has an official price, although standard Singer builds can easily exceed $500,000. With Louis Vuitton involved, could these two special 911s be among the most expensive Singer creations yet?

She Bought Her Porsche Back for $250K

What would make someone spend $250,000 to buy back a car they once sold? For Dr. Phyllis Yes, the answer was simple: her 1967 Porsche 911S wasn't just an old sports car—it was a piece of her own artistic history. In 1984, Oregon-based artist Dr. Yes transformed the vintage Porsche into an unusual art car called “Por-She.” Using real lace as a stencil, she created an intricate pattern across the body, deliberately challenging the traditionally masculine image of the sports car. The result was so distinctive that the Wall Street Journal once described it as the world's fastest doily. The 911 served as a mobile art exhibit during the mid-1980s before eventually returning to Dr. Yes's studio. In 2010, it was sold to another owner, who carefully restored the Porsche while preserving its unusual paintwork. Dr. Yes even helped touch up parts of the artwork herself. The car later appeared at Monterey in 2013 and won the People's Choice Award at the Legends of the Autobahn show. Born Phyllis Danker in Minnesota in 1941, Dr. Yes has spent decades working as an artist, playwright and educator. Her work often challenges social conventions with humor, and the Por-She fits perfectly into that philosophy. She even gave a Colt 1911 pistol a similar lace-inspired treatment. Decades later, the Porsche appeared on Bring a Trailer. Concerned that its rising value might eventually put the artwork at risk, Dr. Yes returned with a $250,000 bid and bought her creation back. Her plan is to preserve the car and eventually place it in a museum. Should a historically significant art car like Por-She be preserved behind museum glass, or should it still be driven? Does its unconventional paintwork make this 911 more valuable as art than as a collectible Porsche? And was buying it back the best way for Dr. Yes to protect her legacy? Whatever the answer, Por-She has become something rare: a classic Porsche that is simultaneously a collector car, a cultural statement and a piece of automotive art.
