Chassis No.: 6700521 Engine No.: 2G50012 Registration: UFH 155S OFFERS INVITED • Restored to an exceptional no expense spared standard • Believed to be one of just four examples in the UK • Won best car at the Mitsubishi 40th Anniversary event The Colt Lancer GSR is a true piece of motorsport history, marking the beginning of Mitsubishi’s iconic rally legacy. The Lancer GSR played a pivotal role in the 1975 Safari Rally, where it not only showcased remarkable durability but also cemented its place in rally folklore with a standout performance. Powered by a 1.6 litre engine and equipped with a robust, lightweight chassis, the Lancer GSR was engineered for the gruelling conditions of the famous African event, with its impressive finish propelling Mitsubishi into the global motorsport spotlight. This success laid the foundation for Mitsubishi’s future rally dominance, directly influencing the development of the legendary Mitsubishi Evolution series. The Lancer GSR’s performance on the 1975 Safari Rally is seen as the spiritual precursor to the Evo’s groundbreaking success in World Rally Championship events. An extremely rare sight in the UK, it is believed there are just four examples in the country and this is sure to be the best of the bunch. This example has been completely restored with no expense spared and being as rare as it is, it probably should belong in a museum! The car was shown at the Mitsubishi 40th Anniversary event, where it won best car and also oldest UK Mitsubishi, cementing just how good an example it is. The exterior paintwork and brightwork gleams and the fit and finish of everything is excellent. The engine bay is exceptionally clean and the interior shows virtually no signs of any wear at all. The history file contains the original service book, stamped up to 46,700 miles in 1990, along with evidence of some more recent servicing by Lights Cars Action, who are highly regarded for their historic motorsport preparation and they have carried out the most recent servicing works. The original owner’s handbook is also included in the history file along with details of the 2014 Mitsubishi Motors ‘Grand Tour’, which the car took part in. This car would be ideal for any discerning Japanese car collector or for someone who appreciates homologation specials with true rally pedigree and it’s unlikely you’ll find another example like this again. GCC Specs means that the vehicle was manufactured to specifications for Gulf Cooperation Council markets. These versions are generally designed for local climate conditions. However, GCC Specs alone does not confirm the vehicle’s condition or mean that it has a valid warranty; these points should be checked separately.
Some showrooms offer financing. If available, the terms or an estimated monthly payment may be shown in the listing. The final interest rate and approval depend on the bank, the down payment, and the buyer’s details.
