In several key areas, Audi's new flagship even takes the lead. Measuring 209 inches in length, the 2027 Audi Q9 is 5.4 inches longer than the BMW X7 and 4 inches longer than the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class. It also features the longest wheelbase among the three, placing it close to the size of a Cadillac Escalade, which measures 211.9 inches. Audi says maximizing interior space was a priority, and that strategy is most noticeable in the cargo area. Behind the third-row seats, the Q9 offers 19 cubic feet of luggage capacity—one cubic foot more than the GLS and six more than the X7. However, the BMW and Mercedes still provide slightly better third-row legroom, suggesting Audi prioritized cargo versatility over rear passenger space. Performance is equally competitive.
