    Lamborghini’s Next Supercar Experiment

    The Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato always seemed like the kind of wild experiment Lamborghini might build once and never revisit. But the idea may not be dead yet. A senior Lamborghini product executive has left the possibility of another Sterrato-style model open, although there is no confirmation that one is currently being developed. Earlier this year, the company’s sales and marketing leadership also suggested that Lamborghini could return to the off-road sports-car formula. If the Lamborghini Temerario were chosen, the challenge would be greater than with the Huracán. Its twin-turbo 4.0-liter / 244-cu-in V8 works with three electric motors to deliver 907 hp / 920 PS / 677 kW. The standard car reaches 62 mph in 2.7 seconds and tops out at 213 mph / 343 kph. The original Sterrato received a serious transformation, including a 1.73-in / 44-mm ride-height increase, a wider track, underbody protection, specialized tires and a dedicated Rally mode for loose surfaces. For now, a Temerario Sterrato exists only as a possibility. But why does Lamborghini keep leaving the door open? Could the Temerario make an even more extreme off-road supercar?
