A lowered stance on chrome 15-inch Fuchs wheels and beautifully polished brightwork against a slightly noir shade of green paint makes for a stunningly exquisite presentation by this 1965 Volkswagen Type II Kombi. The rebuilt 1904cc flat 4-cylinder engine features rebuilt dual-port heads, Mahle forged pistons, aluminum pushrods, NOS twin Dell’Orto 36 carburetors, a Bosch German ignition system, a Doghouse-style cooling system and a Vintage Speed stainless-steel exhaust system, all backed by a 4-speed manual transmission with a Vintage Speed shifter.

The chassis is comprised of Cofap front and rear shocks, a rear swing axle with Rusty Bottom Garage drop plates, 944 brakes, and Rusty Bottom Garage 4-inch narrow beam with flip spindles. A Wolfsburg West steering damper accompanies a rebuilt Wolfgang steering box. Passengers are held snugly in place with Wolfsburg West seatbelts, and the stock seats are upholstered with Sewfine covers. The stock dashboard is set with a rebuilt, original speedometer. Embry’s Auto Body completed the paint and bodywork, and the bus has earned the Promoter’s Choice Award at the 2020 Bulli Brigade and the Best Paint Award at the 2020 Bug Jam.
