Very well presented left-hand drive 'Splittie', previously owned by TV personality, Chris Evans.
First registered in 1960, this 'Splittie' was imported from California in 2007 and later acquired by its current owner from TV personality, Chris Evans. Powered by the traditional 1,600cc flat-four, in this case enhanced by twin Weber carburettors and a 4-speed gearbox. Looking Summer-fresh in Marina Blue topped by Pastel White. Fitted with a full-length 'Westy' roof rack and side steps. An extensive restoration was carried out in 2007, including a top-end engine rebuild, gearbox and brake overhauls. More recently it has benefited from a new clutch, upgraded alternator and battery.
The interior is trimmed in a body-matching light blue and off-white colour scheme, complemented by beige carpeting. It includes a surfboard-style table and two drop-down 'buddy' seats, creating a relaxed and sociable environment, toilet, rock and roll bed and electrics. Supplied with numerous invoices for its time in UK, it's clear how loved this classic has been. This superbly presented and upgraded 'Splittie' is now ready for a host of new adventures in the hands of its next enthusiast owner.
