The name is officially considered very long, but it explains exactly what’s on offer with this Cybertruck. The standard, all-wheel drive Tesla Cybertruck is seemingly a vehicle from another world. In standard guise, the dual-motor all-wheel drive electric pickup impressed people with a 0-60 MPH time of 4.1 seconds, a top speed of 112 MPH, a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds and a range of somewhere around 325 miles. Weighing in at around 6,634 pounds, it’s no featherweight in the world of full-size pickups and lends a healthy 11,000-pound towing capacity, again impressing people.
With the Cyberbeast Upgrade, the stainless-steel crusader picks up a few extra features, such as a tri-motor all-wheel drive system that delivers 845 HP and a mind-blowing 10,296 lb-ft of torque; the list continues with Performance Launch Mode, Rear Torque Vectoring, a Premium Interior and a laser-etched Cerberus Badge. The Cyberbeast Package adds nearly $30,000 to the $74,490 price tag of a regular Cybertruck. With it, the 0-60 MPH time drops to 2.6 seconds, and the top speed is governor-limited at 130 MPH.
Motor Trend magazine hitched a trailer and Porsche 911 Turbo to a Cybertruck Cyberbeast and pitted it against the exact same 911 Turbo on an eight-mile dragstrip, and the Cyberbeast beat the Porsche by a full fender. Granted, adjusting the controls in the 911 helped a lot, and in a second and third run, the Turbo outran the Beast by a fair margin. Of course, the Beast was still towing the trailer and Turbo, which begs the question, what would happen if the magazine had unhitched the Beast? After all, the Cyberbeast has been tested to outrun a Bugatti Veyron in the 0-60 MPH test by a gnat’s hair with the Veyron coming in at 2.7 seconds.
Adding the Foundation Series option tacks on another $20,000 and equips the Cybertruck with special, laser-etched Foundation Series badges, an off-road light bar, special interior graphics, full self-driving mode, the Powershare Home Backup capability and a Powershare Mobile Connector, 3D all-weather liners, gear locker dividers, a glass roof sunshade and D-rings. As if all that weren’t enough, this particular Cybertruck is further equipped with the limited-edition Waido body kit, the sixth of only 100 made. The Waido kit includes larger fender flares, side skirts, a rear diffuser, a rear wing and a front lower valance, lending the Cybertruck a sportier and more aggressive look.
Rolling on custom 24-inch Giovanna wheels with knobby off-road tires, the variable 4-wheel steering allows the lengthy truck to handle curves, corners and U-turns with more athleticism than most other pickups. The adaptive air suspension allows the Cybertruck to hunker down fairly close to the ground for boulevard cruising but can raise the truck several inches for off-roading. The Cybertruck is remarkably comfortable, too, with features like bidirectional charging, eight cameras, a 15-speaker Tesla audio system, heated seats for the four outboard passengers, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, specialized surfaces inside and much more.
With the Foundation Series and Cyberbeast options, this Cybertruck is remarkably well equipped. Add to that the Waido body kit and it becomes one of just 100 so built. With the further addition of the unique matte black finish and the two-tone black and light-tone interior, it’s unique even among those select few.
