The Subaru Legacy is a mid-size car manufactured by Subaru since 1989. The maker's flagship car, it is unique in its class for offering all-wheel drive as a standard feature together with Subaru's traditional boxer engine. In 1996, a variant of the Legacy with heightened suspension called the Legacy Outback was introduced to compete in the burgeoning sport-utility vehicle class and proved to be a sales success for Subaru. The third generation Legacy was launched in 1998 and continued to be a resounding success for the Japanese car maker.

This stunning example was imported into the UK in 2016 and has been enjoyed immensely by the current vendor. Offering brisk performance as well as a good level of specification including power steering, electric windows and air conditioning, this is a vehicle that is both easy yet highly enjoyable to drive. Blitzen is German for lightning which reflect the performance of this Subaru. A result of a collaboration with design house Porsche Design and featuring many unique parts.

This was the top level luxury sport package from Subaru using many items from their STi performance division. The wheels, body kit and interior were all designed by this much respected bespoke design group. It featured a sequential changing automatic gearbox, the first on a production Subaru, designed by Aisin Seiki. This B4 model is powered by an all alloy DOHC 16 valve intercooled twin turbo two litre boxer four engine. Together with Subaru’s traditional AWD this makes for a very quick and capable machine which produces a claimed 280 bhp and a 5.2 second dash to 60 mph! One owner in Japan with extensive paperwork and one owner plus the importer in this country.

Correct factory tyres on Porsche Design House wheels which are virtually unmarked. The interior is in near perfect original condition and features unmarked sports seats, over mats over the over mats, a Momo steering wheel with gear change facility, a great stereo system with a CD player and colour TV. Believed to be unique in this country and in totally unmolested factory condition this particular Subaru, apart from being a delight to drive could well prove to be a sound investment due to its condition, very low mileage and scarcity.
