The Silver Spirit was the first model in Rolls-Royce's SZ series and was produced at the Crewe factory from 1980 to 1997. Power came via the tried-and-trusted all-alloy V8, tweaked for more power and torque. In early carburetted form 198.5bhp and 340 lb-ft was enough to waft this 2,245kg beast forward with consummate ease, while the hydro-pneumatic self-levelling suspension kept passengers cosseted from uneven road surfaces. Like all of its illustrious forbears it was engineered to the maximum and supplied with fittings and finishes that were second-to-none – Connolly leather, Wilton carpets, walnut veneers... etc.
As ever with Rolls-Royces of the era, the car could be ordered with practically limitless combinations of bespoke options. Whatever you ordered, you were assured the finest materials and the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Delivered new in Switzerland to Mazzuchelli Auto of Lugano, this left-hand-drive Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit 4-door saloon was finished in an elegant combination of Magnolia paintwork with a Brown Everflex roof and a matching Brown leather interior.
The car is accompanied by a comprehensive history file, which includes photocopies of its original build documentation. These detail the car's specifications, assembly process, inspections, shipment records, and the invoice dated 6 June 1986.
Maintained with care, its most recent service was carried out in July 2024 by Bahman Cars, following a prior service in 2021. Additionally, the car underwent a veteran expertise on 27 June 2024 in the Canton of Geneva. Showing now 76,793 km on the odometer, it is offered with its original Swiss carte grise (registration document).
