According to the copy of the Rolls Royce purchase order, this 20/25 example left the factory on the 16th September 1930 and was delivered to the Mann Egerton dealership in Norwich. The latter also manufactured bodyworks in its own workshop however, this specific example had its bodywork produced by the prestigious H.J. Mulliner establishment (according to the manufacturer’s document). We cannot confirm whether the car was a tourer or a saloon at the time, but it is clearly stated on the specs sheet that it was equipped with seven seats which matches its current configuration (with its Open Tourer bodywork).

Only a handful of closed cars had seven seats based on the 20/25 chassis, since most of them only had five seats. A certificate from Rolls Royce included in the file also describes the car as an Open Tourer. Thanks to an extensive history file from the 1980s, we were able to trace this elegant automobile back to that time, when it was being restored in England. It was imported to Germany in 1991, where it passed the TUV inspection and subsequently had two owners before being acquired by a pre-war car enthusiast, who intended to complete its restoration. The latter sadly passed away before finishing the details of this extensive restoration.

The engine has been overhauled, and the car is running, while the bodywork and the interior will still need finishing touches to ensure the car is presented as a beautiful, restored example. With the bodywork originally produced by HJ Mulliner, one of the most prestigious workshops of this era, this elegant Tourer would make a distinguished addition to any selective pre-war collection.
