A rival for the Volkswagen Golf GTI MK2 and Ford Escort RS2000, the Renault 19 16v is a car that is often praised as being one of Renault's best hot hatchbacks. Powered by the same 1.8-litre naturally aspirated 16v engine as the Clio 16v, the Renault 19 was praised by journalists for its handling and responsive engine, and as a result it won the What Car? Hot Hatchback of the Year Award in 1990.
This 1991 car is an excellent example that has a low mileage of just 61,000 miles. It's believed that there are only 10 Renault 19 16vs left on UK roads, and this is a very original example. It's history file is exceptional and includes its initial invoice from Renault dealer 'GT Cars Nottingham'. It also has a full service history and an MOT expiry in March 2022. Finished in Renault Sport 449 Blue, the car has been meticulously well looked after by its current keeper and has been professionally restored. Recent work on the car includes new tyres, a new fuel tank, exhaust, cam belt and much more. It has six previous keepers from new, and there's also a V5 in the vendor's name.
The car is believed to be very solid and the history file comes with photo documentation of its restoration. The car also includes many original features such as its original stereo and Renault anti-theft blanking plate. This is an excellent example of an increasingly rare 1990s hot hatchback.
