This Porsche model represents their second hybrid offering which displaced the base Boxster as Porsche’s most fuel-efficient export. It can out-sprint a twin-turbo V-8 BMW 750Li from 0- to 60-mph, out-corner a Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG and return better fuel economy than the four-cylinder-powered Lotus Elise.

Power for the Panamera comes from the same winning supercharged V-6/electric motor combination found in the Cayenne S Hybrid. When driving, the hybrid experience is all but forgotten from the supportive low-slung sport seats, that is, until you find yourself creeping around parking lots solely on battery power as a form of stealth. Otherwise, the powertrain is stated to provide the smoothest of engine start-stop transitions, powerful forward thrust when called upon and a sporty overall driving experience delivered through the eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox.
