We are pleased to offer what many consider to be the most refined and elegant incarnation of the modern-day Porsche Speedster. This limited-edition two-seat 2011 example—one of only 356 offered, all of which were quickly snapped up by collectors—was based on the Porsche’s 997 platform, and it is the 219th in that brief and much-coveted series.
Speedsters prepared by Porsche Exclusive were offered in either Pure Blue or Carrara White; this breathtaking example was ordered in the latter color, with an interior trimmed in black leather with white accents. It was factory-equipped with an upgraded 3.8-liter engine with the special X51 Power Kit from Porsche Exclusive, mated to a seven-speed double-clutch PDK transmission with a locking differential and four-wheel PCCB carbon-ceramic composite disc brakes with cross-drilled rotors. The desirable X51 Power Kit, the same as offered on the 911 Carrera GTS, boosted engine output to a vision-blurring 408 horsepower at 7,300 rpm.
Modified cylinder heads, a part-carbon-fiber air cleaner housing, and a new variable-resonance intake system with six switchable valves optimize engine control; it exhales through a new twin-outlet Sports exhaust.
The interior, too, is unique. The two sport seats have body-colored hard shells and there is a center upholstery insert comprising a checkered-flag pattern. The car carries several references to it being number 219 in a limited-edition series, with a numbered plaque on the dashboard and the doorsill scuff plate. “Speedster” appears on the parking brake lever.
Black-centered Fuchs Classic alloys and a black rock-chip protector on the rear quarters add contrast to the exterior, while the tonneau cover itself has been altered to both hold the high-center-mounted brake light and allow space for a new louvered engine lid. This hand-assembled 997 Speedster came with so many items offered by Porsche Exclusive that they were not listed individually, but rather, simply noted as “Speedster Option.”
This stunning Speedster was sold new by Rusnak Porsche in Pasadena, California during the summer of 2011 to Russell and Linda Perlich, who during five years of ownership recorded just 7,400 miles. In 2016 it was sold to the consignor and shipped to Florida, where it has resided since. It has been serviced annually by Champion Porsche and The Collection Porsche, being fitted with new Michelin tires along the way. It is supplied with its original manuals and paperwork including window sticker, plus spare keys and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
Now displaying a mere 9,425 miles at cataloguing, this Speedster is a traffic-stopper, and its next owner will delight in both its looks and performance.
