A true limited-production model built by the Porsche Exclusive department, the 993-generation Turbo S was Stuttgart’s last air-cooled 911 Turbo. The Turbo S was powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six engine with an alloy crankcase and cylinder heads, larger turbochargers, and new Bosch Motronic fuel management, improving output to 424 horsepower. Mated to a six-speed manual transaxle, the powerful engine could catapult the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 188 mph.
Built for one year only, the 993 Turbo S was the last of the great air-cooled 911s, sealing its position as the highest evolution of Porsche’s most celebrated model.
Built in March 1997, this Turbo S was finished in Arena Red Metallic paint over an interior upholstered in Chestnut Brown leather. Optioned with lumbar-support seats, the digital sound package, and Porsche script floor mats, chassis number 375752 was initially retailed through Beechmont Porsche in Cincinnati, Ohio. Regular entries in the 911’s service booklet demonstrate annual attention by Porsche specialists for many years, as the car traversed to Florida from 1997 through 2002, after which it spent a few years in New Jersey.
By mid-2007, the Porsche had been exported to a new owner in Europe, finding a home first in Germany and later in Italy. The current owner purchased the Turbo S and returned it to the United States several years ago. In August 2023 the car was treated to a full inspection by a Porsche dealer in Santa Barbara, California, which included the repair of minor electrical issues and the installation of a new battery. A set of 993 hardback sport seats was acquired by the seller and trimmed to match the interior, upgrading the appearance and specification of the car. The lumbar-support seats are included with the sale, should the next owner wish to return the car to its original specification.
A steady accrual of mileage on the service stamps suggests that the current odometer figure of 23,975 miles represents genuine mileage. Please note that the Carfax records a “Not Actual Mileage” title issued for this car by the state of Ohio in 2000. The service stamps, mileage recordings, and odometer readings reported to Carfax throughout this time do not show any discrepancies, suggesting that the Carfax note regarding the 2000 Ohio title could be a mistake.
