This 2007 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR is one of 35 built by Porsche Rennsport for the 2007 racing season. This is a pure unadulterated race car—not street legal—and will be offered on a Bill of Sale. This car was constructed by Porsche and sold to pre-qualified race teams to campaign in the eligible race classes under the auspices of the three following sanctioning bodies: A.C.O., FIA GT and IMSA. Built from a body-in-white, Porsche installs a complete roll cage using 30 meters of seamless steel tubing. The 3.8L 24-valve flat-6—with the internal designation of M97/80—is a naturally aspirated unit which produces 485 HP at 8,500 RPM.
The car tips the scales at a dry weight of 2,690 pounds with a resulting power-to-weight ratio of 5.5 lbs per horsepower. The transmission is a manual sequential 6-speed shift mechanism. The steamroller wheel and tire combination is 13×18-inch rear and 11×8-inch front with mounted racing slicks. It is significant to note that the 997 GT3 RSR set a Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time record for non-turbocharged cars at 7:07, driven by Sabine Schmitz. This particular car was originally sold to the Pro Speed Competition group in 2007 and used for back up and testing purposes in 2007. In 2008, it raced at three FIA-GT events and experienced no accident damage.
It was then sold to the second owner who tested the car under the guidance of Team Parker Racing. It was sold to the current owner in 2009 where it has remained in a private Porsche collection. It currently has less than four hours on a factory-rebuilt engine. This GT3 RSR comes complete with full documentation including homologation papers, technical handbook, testing history and full race history.
