Porsche’s 991-series adaptation of the 911 GT3 RS made its debut at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2015, sporting an enlarged 4.0-liter flat-six engine. A facelift followed in February 2018, bringing with it an uprated engine with increased output and a screaming 9,000-rpm redline. Externally, the car was styled more aggressively, with additional ducts to aid brake cooling, and new side skirts and a colossal rear wing influenced by the GT2 RS.
Just a few months after its arrival, the 991.2 GT3 RS became only the third production Porsche to break the seven-minute barrier at the notoriously challengine Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany, following in the footsteps of the ground-breaking 918 Spyder.
