The 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS could only have come from one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of track day fun machines, a car Road & Track Magazine called “the most focused roadgoing 911,” meaning literally the fastest, most powerful 911 ever. Given such in-house rivals as the AWD Turbo S and the sibling GT3 RS, that is high praise indeed—and thoroughly justified. Powered by a 3.8L/690 HP twin-turbocharged flat 6-cylinder engine mated to an automatic gearbox, the rear-wheel-drive GT2 RS held or holds the track records at the Nürburgring, Road America and Road Atlanta, to name just three, and has stolen comparison test honors from the likes of McLaren, Corvette and Ferrari.
With a generous serving of options and unique features via Porsche’s Special Wishes Exclusive Manufaktur custom tailoring service, this example’s original MSRP elevated from its $293,200 base to a total of $332,130. The Weissach package trims some 60 pounds via carbon fiber sway bar assemblies, paddle shifters and roof panel, a titanium roll cage and exhaust, and lightweight satin black painted wheels, while the Sport Chrono package enhances performance timing and driving modes to optimize on-track performance.
Finished in black over a black and red interior, this GT2 RS also incorporates a high-mounted carbon fiber IMSA-style rear wing, LED headlights in black with Porsche Dynamic Light System, carbon fiber and high-gloss black exterior trim, the front axle lift system and a body color-matching headlight cleaning system. A 23.7-gallon extended range fuel tank is also included.
The cockpit is a very special environment befitting the wildest 911 ever built, incorporating a personalized combination of black and red leather with red contrast stitching and seatbelts and Alcantara surfaces and trim, including the doors, steering wheel with 12 o’clock marker, the dash and the Porsche-embossed center console storage lid.
