This 1929 Packard Custom Eight Model 645 Runabout roadster has undergone a meticulous nut-and-bolt restoration and is powered by a 385ci inline-8 engine delivering 105bhp. This Custom Eight was built on the 145.5-inch 645 long-wheelbase chassis. Its elegant two-seat design, complemented by a rumble seat, is finished in tan leather upholstery. The car presents in Cream finish with Butterscotch fenders and accents, along with a beige Haartz cloth top. These period-appropriate colors highlight the lines and details of this coachwork, originally commanding a premium price tag of $1,410 over the shorter 640 model - a sum that could have purchased an entire Chrysler 75 Roadster in its day.
This example is equipped with a host of period-correct features, including Trippe driving lights, a Goddess of Speed radiator mascot, dual side-mounted spares, stainless-spoke wire wheels, whitewall tires, dual spotlights, wind wings, a radiator stone guard, luggage rack and rumble seat, maintained since its restoration.
