According to the GT-R Registry, this 1995 Nissan Skyline R33 is one of just 1,169 Series 1 V-Spec GT-Rs produced in Spark Silver Metallic. Featuring the Series 1 interior with bucket seats and blue trim, it’s equipped with power windows, power locks, automatic climate control, an AM/FM/cassette radio and a rear window wiper, to mention a few convenience elements. The interior is equipped with a Momo steering wheel and Nismo old-logo triple meter gauges. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged RB26 DETT 2.6L inline 6-cylinder engine and 5-speed manual transmission, with that engine kept cool by way of an aluminum radiator, and it also has the oil filter relocation kit.
Tucked behind factory split five-spoke alloy wheels, Brembo 4-wheel disc brakes scrub down speed. Despite its fast and furious looks and reputation, the Skyline started life rather humbly as the Prince Skyline, which evolved into the Prince Skyline GT, sedans with relatively high-horsepower 6-cylinder engines and comfortable interiors. Earning a number of racing victories, Prince merged with Nissan in 1969, the Skyline name thusly becoming part of the Nissan family. Production of the exclusive car was sustained through 1973. Nissan stopped manufacturing it until 1989, when the new R32 was introduced.
Engineered to dominate Group A racing, the Skyline evolved through the years, with the fourth generation being introduced for 1995 and known as the R33. Never officially imported into the United States, the Skyline name was separated from the GT-R moniker in 2007 for the introduction of the Nissan GT-R, which was sold in the United States. While not officially branded as a Skyline, it indeed shared a number of components, marking it as a Skyline, even if only by fanatics.
