The Morgan plus 8 was the pride and joy of the Malvern factory between 1968 and 2004. The car was engineered and developed by Maurice Owen, who based the Plus 8 prototype on a modified version of the Plus 4, to which he added the Rover 3.9 litre V8, purchased by Rover from GM-Buick in 1967.

Chassis R9838 was built by the Malvern factory as a Morgan 'Plus 8' road car in 1987 and was subsequently turned in to a successful race car to compete in Class B of the Morgan Challenge. The 3. V8 Rover based engine gives strong and reliable power ouput and the car has been professionally prepared for racing by Brands Hatch Morgan.

Work has also included uprated racing suspension and brakes within the series rules, plus a roll cage with racing seat and full harness. Being road registered the car can also compete a whole variety of Tours and Rallies throughout Europe.

Finished in its original colour of Maroon with beige leather, we are assured that the car drives superbly today and certainly offers value for money in classic sports car racing.
