Mercedes-Benz was initially hesitant to send the Sprinter to America, but it has been very well received. To date, nearly 4 million units have been sold in all their variations, and there is a seemingly inexhaustible number of Sprinter configurations. In 2019, Mercedes-Benz spent a considerable amount of time and money improving on the big van, making it much stronger both physically and technologically, quicker, more efficient and easier to drive. The company also instilled a much more modern dashboard interface.
It has served a number of commercial enterprises and personal endeavors very well, and, in typical American parlance, when we see a blank canvas, our response is to make it our own. Such is the case with this 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, fully customized by Ultimate Toys of Loveland, Ohio. Ultimate Toys is to the Sprinter van what coachbuilders of bygone years were to Packard, Duesenberg and so on. The sky is the limit.
Powered by a 3.0L turbo diesel engine and 7-speed automatic transmission, this Sprinter is ready to offer occupants a camping experience like no other, an unforgettable night out on the town or a road trip of absolute comfort; it’s built to be enjoyed, crafted to coddle and absolutely leaves no eyebrow unraised. The exterior is finished entirely in black, save for the usual brightwork elements, while the interior is upholstered in light tan with dark detailing. The rear bench seat folds flat, and four captain’s chairs provide seating toward the front and for the front driver and passenger.
Twin big screen televisions provide entertainment, and custom lighting abounds in the usual places as well as the glass holders and overhead hand grabs. The flooring is dark wood grain, and a removable table provides an all-purpose space. At the very rear of the Sprinter is a restroom that’s also been luxuriously appointed and is accessible from inside or outside, and the van hosts full hookups. Complete with two keys and built on a quad-wheel rear end, stability and strength are hallmarks of the Sprinter, making this a remarkable vehicle for business or pleasure.
