SLK actually means Sportlich (sporty), Leicht (light) and Kurz (short) and was first Introduced in 1996 as the 1st-generation SLK. It wowed the world with its compact dimensions (for a Mercedes), spritely supercharged performance and its "pièce de résistance', a collapsible steel roof that transforms the sporty two-seater from a hardtop to an open-air roadster at the touch of a button.
We are informed by the vendor that this is a genuine two owner car, with the first owner having owned the car for 11 years. The mileage of just under 92000 miles is warranted and is supported by the car's service book with 7 stamps. Finished in factory black, the gloss of this cars paintwork is deep throughout and its shut lines are reassuringly symmetrical and narrow and almost flawless, except for some small stone chips to the bonnet. The blue/black leather interior contrasts beautifully both internally and externally and really does give this little Mercedes a real quality feel.
