A fantastic example of the long wheelbase V12-powered W140 with Royal Family ownership and just 18,582 miles from new. The pre-facelift W140 Series 600 SEL sat at the head of the Mercedes-Benz range in the early 1990s. This example, registered on 27/08/1993, was specified in desirable long wheelbase form and powered by the range-topping V12, a model increasingly regarded as a significant modern classic.
Finished in Metallic Grey (122) and de-badged for discreet appearance, the car is appointed with walnut trim, double glazed electric windows, soft close doors, electric heated memory front seats, electrically adjustable rear seats and headrests, rear blind, sunroof and the original Motorola International 2500 GSM car phone. At its heart is the 6.0-litre M120 E60 V12 producing 402bhp and 580Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed 4G automatic transmission, with multi-zone climate control, cruise control and fully adjustable steering column enhancing long distance refinement.
The car remains notably original in specification, with only routine maintenance items attended to in recent years including a breather pipe, intake manifold gaskets and replacement front lower control arms, retaining its factory equipment and presentation. First owned by the Dubai Royal Family, registered on the V5C as The Dubai Office, London, it covered just 15,000 miles in their 20-year tenure before acquisition by our vendor in 2013, who has added around 3,500 miles, the odometer now reading 18,582 miles, with service history showing nine entries including PDI and maintenance by Mercedes-Benz of Worcester.
