The McLaren Elva depicts this ultimate driving emotion where the F1 had left off many years ago. McLaren had set out to build a vehicle so powerful, so lightweight and delivering a completely different driving experience than any of their other vehicles offered. To do this, a drastic approach would need to be taken to achieve status of giving a driver the driving experience from a whole new world. This drastic approach includes eliminating the entire roof, windows and windscreen.

Couple that with copious amounts of lightweight carbon fiber body panels as well as the carbon chassis, a highly advanced aerodynamic body design and a superbly responsive 804 horsepower twin turbocharged V8 engine; this completes the recipe for an astounding experience in a road car. Performance from this lightweight and powerful machine comes with astounding numbers including an estimated 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds while 0-124mph is stated to take an astonishing 6.7 seconds. Top speed on this roadster is claimed to hit 203 mph. The Elva was the machine that McLaren developed to mimic what a modern day Can-Am racecar would be like today. Truly an amazing driving experience.

The Elva is the lightest modern production road car that McLaren has ever produced. Although they have yet to announce its actual weight, the writing is on the wall considering the amount of high-tech, lightweight composite details used on this car. The Elva is equipped with a bespoke carbon fiber monocoque which is mated to a full carbon fiber body which is comprised from only three main panels. The front carbon fiber clamshell is stated to be only 1.2mm in thickness proving how minimalistic their approach was to achieving extreme lightness.

Most of the interior is adorned by carbon fiber as well as the unique carbon fiber seats clad in a new synthetic 'Ultrafabric' material to help the occupants stay firmly gripped into the seats. To add to the carbon theme, 4-wheel carbon ceramic brakes are utilized and being connected to the road via lightweight forged wheels and soft compound rubber. The unique body was designed to be as slippery and smooth in the aerodynamic department while incorporating new technology to aid driving enjoyment. To aid the additional wind noise created in a cabin which lacks a windshield, McLaren developed a sophisticated system to help direct air and turbulence over the cabin.

This new aerodynamic aid called Active Air Management System (AAMS) is a driver-controlled air foil which elevates out of the front end of the vehicle at certain speeds, blocks the air coming into the cabin, and therefore deflects this air and wind noise up and over the driver compartment. Quite possibly the most innovative way to serve the purpose of a windscreen without even installing one. Additionally, the rear spoiler acts as an air brake and deploys under hard braking helping the car decelerate quicker. With only 149 units being built for the world, this is one of the lowest production Ultimate Series cars to come from the manufacturer.

THE CAR OFFERED This beautiful, topless speedster is XP2, the second development prototype produced. Showing a mere 493 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloging, this Elva is in practically as new condition. This Elva XP2 was extensively featured in marketing and press worldwide to promote the new model. Famously photographed in Monaco with the United Kingdom registration plate "Y400 MCL", it would further appear in at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, in Top Gear magazine, and make stops in Germany, Switzerland, and Poland before coming to the United States to promote the model and receive further reviews from journalists including Doug DeMuro who made a video about this Elva.

Returning to the Woking in the United Kingdom on August 1st, 2022, the Elva was extensively rebuilt, refurbished, and homologated by the factory for the US market with a manufacture date of August 2022 listed in the door jamb label. Returning Stateside in December of 2022, it was delivered with 31 miles on the odometer through McLaren of Denver to its first owner. This Elva has been optioned in spectacular fashion by none other than McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

The car is finished in livery inspired by Elvis Presley's McLaren M1A as seen in the movie Spinout with MSO Bespoke Tupelo Gold paint over a Raven black interior completed in McLaren' latest and greatest 'Ultrafabric' Nubuck material, which is a synthetic, robust material that is designed to be weather resistant and offer extra grip and support. The exterior paint is also equipped with a factory applied paint protection film to ensure continuous shielding.

Featuring a wide list of additional options from MSO, these options include brake calipers in black with a machined logo, gloss black diamond cut 5-spoke super lightweight wheels, interior carbon fiber finished in 1K Satin, interior stitching in Gold, Gold leather piping, embroidered headrest with Elva logo and steering wheel with 12 O'clock marking. Other notable features include carbon fiber front gurney, air conditioning, 8-speaker audio system, vehicle lift and both mirror and parking sensors. A hallmark example of the model, it is prominently featured on McLaren's own webpage on the Elva.

One of the most fantastic drivers' cars to come from Surrey, this extremely limited machine is surely going to help redefine an exhilarating experience from the drivers' seat. Here is a rare opportunity to be able to own one of McLaren's most pure and exciting vehicles thus far.
