When McLaren unveiled its new 570 it introduced two versions, the S and the GT. The S is intended to be the sportier of the two, while the GT strives for more comfort. Magnificently engineered with extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum, the 570S sprints from 0-60 in just 3.2-seconds, finding 124 MPH in 9.5-seconds and eventually reaching terminal velocity at 204 MPH. Powered by a mid-mounted 3.8 liter V-8 and a 7-speed automatic transmission, it boasts twin-turbochargers to help produce its scintillating 562 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.
Keeping it all locked to the pavement are F1-proven aerodynamics, control-arm adaptive suspension, carbon ceramic brake rotors and Pirelli P-Zero low profile tires. With all that in mind, a benefit of the small displacement turbocharged V-8 engine and lightweight body engineering are higher levels of efficiency and cleaner emissions. The 570S is exempt from the gas guzzler tax and the emissions output is several points lower than most of its competitors. Imagine a 200-plus MPH supercar delivering 25 miles per gallon and you have a 570S.
