The Lotus Esprit was built by Lotus from 1976 to 2004 and a future model is due for release in 2013. The silver Italdesign concept that eventually became the Esprit was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1972 as a concept car. It was a development of a stretched Lotus Europa chassis. It was among the first of designer Giorgetto Giugiaro's polygonal folded paper designs. With a top speed exceeding 175 mph and a 0-to-60 time of 4.4 seconds, this late-production 1997 Esprit Turbo V8 represents the ultimate variant of this iconic design. Its 350 bhp twin-turbo V-8 is a far cry from the 140-horsepower four-cylinderengine that powered its predecessor.

From the aggressive aerodynamics package, rear wing, dual exhaust outlets and massive wheel and tyre package, this is widely regarded as the most attractive Esprit built in the model's long history and the one with the most supercar characteristics.

This truly stunning example is finished in Azure Blue with cream leather interior and has covered a mere 46,000 miles from new. The car is supplied with a very good service history, with bills and receipts detailing expenditure over the years. Complete with removable roof, OZ Racing split rim alloy wheels, air conditioning, plus a factory fitted tracker and power steering. A service has recently been conducted and this Esprit is ready for extended use and can be driven away by its CarFest purchaser.
