The 1946 model marked the first year of postwar Lincoln production. Like other companies Lincoln used the design of their prewar 1942 models, essentially re-releasing them with minor changes. Front grilles became the focal point of design in early post-World War II America. The Lincoln Continental featured an intricately designed eight piece front grille. The 1946 Lincoln Continental enjoyed great publicity highlighted by Henry Ford II driving one as the pace car for the Indianapolis 500. In 1946 there were 201 cabriolets built.

This 1946 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet is presented in Indy “pace car yellow” with a black canvas convertible top and matching boot. Exterior features include foglamps, dual sideview mirrors and a great looking rear-mounted spare that became widely known as a Continental kit. The car is powered by a V-12 engine and paired to a manual transmission. The car rides on Firestone Deluxe Champion tires. The interior contrasts the body color beautifully with red leather upholstery and matching Wilton wool carpet. Interior amenities include AM radio, clock, power windows and a heater. Included in the sale are the jack and tool in the original bag.

This 1946 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet has been restored to national prize-winning standards and is a CCCA Full Classic. The attention to detail is exceptional and is evident with the car’s excellent panel fit, Ford script glass throughout, and highly detailed engine compartment.
