Debuted at Sebring International Raceway, the 2022 Lexus IS500 F Sport Launch Edition followed the V-8 powered IS500 F Sport to market with production limited to just a planned 500 examples. Featuring subtle, yet muscular styling, the Launch Edition shares the same 5.0L naturally-aspirated V-8 engine as its progenitor, rated at 472 HP and 395 lb-ft of torque. Performance is fierce, including a 7,100 RPM redline and factory-stated 0-60 MPH acceleration in just 4.4 seconds, all the while cosseting the driver and passengers in serene, yet sporty luxury.
New “Incognito” paint colors help distinguish the Launch Edition, along with lightweight matte black 19-inch forged BBS wheels that reduce unsprung weight by a factory-stated 4 pounds per wheel. Interior tweaks include two-tone black and gray suede upholstery adorning the seats, door panels and center console. Ash trim and F Sport and serialized badging adorn the heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a Launch Edition start-up animation plays inside the digital gauge cluster display.
Offered with only 32 miles on the odometer, this 2022 Lexus IS 500F Sport Launch Edition is car No. 12 of only 500 examples produced for North America—450 for the United States and 50 destined for Canada. Performance is massive, with its naturally aspirated 5.0L V-8 engine generating 472 HP and 395 lb-ft of torque in concert with selectable drive modes, an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential. Twin-stacked exhaust outlets per side deliver a performance-oriented look with a sophisticated exhaust note consistent with the sophisticated presence of the IS500 F Sport Launch Edition.
