  • Variant: 4x4 Utility

  • Body Colour: Bronze Green

A daily companion for its two owners for over 57 years, this 88" 2a w. ould make a perfect basis for a full restoration or could be used and enjoyed exactly as is.

The Series 2a revised version of the Land Rover made its debut in 1961 and is regarded by many Land Rover aficionados as the version that Rover got right, being generally thought of as the most durable and easily repairable of the Series Land Rovers. Although very similar, it had a number of updates over its predecessor, including improved seating and larger windows. After the first 1,500 were produced, the 2a was powered by the ubiquitous 2.25-litre four-cylinder engine generating 72bhp and 114lb/ft of torque. This 1968 88" 2a has just one previous recorded keeper who retained ownership for some 26 years before handing over the reins to our vendor in 1994 where it remains to this day.

Presented in its original specification, totally unmolested and in a condition that shows that this 57 year old Land Rover has truly been used and enjoyed as intended. Finished in the traditional Land Rover colours of Bronze Green with a Limestone rear and roof and proudly wearing signs of a life lived to the full with battle scars that are part and parcel of any original Land Rover of this age. Would make a perfect basis for a full restoration or with a degree of recommissioning could  be used and enjoyed exactly as it is. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to confirm that this particular Land Rover fulfils your expectations and requirements.
