This is a one-of-a-kind, fully restored, modified and modernized 1967 Kaiser-Jeep M715, super heavy-duty, 1¼-ton 4x4 truck was the military version of the original Jeep Gladiator made by Kaiser-Jeep from 1967 to 1969. They were deployed for service to Vietnam, Korea and Eastern Europe with very few making their way back to the USA after their service. The recently completed full frame-off professional restoration has 1,250 shakedown miles since completion. Power comes from a new Chevrolet LS3 6.2-liter V8 engine with 430 horsepower mated to a GM 4L70e 4-speed automatic transmission and an NP208 2-speed 4WD transfer case with manually locking front hubs.
The original super-heavy-duty Dana 60 and 70 axles with 5.88 gears have been rebuilt. For improved drivability, power steering was added, and the braking system was upgraded with a dual-reservoir power-assisted master cylinder with all new lines and wheel cylinders. This rig rides on custom 12.5-by-17-inch wheels wrapped with 37-inch Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires. Other key features include custom front and rear bumpers with a WARN winch, overhead cargo carrier with trail and bed lighting, a fold-down windshield, trailering package with Class IV hitch and transmission cooler, Rancho shocks and stealth fuel filler cap hidden inside the side-mounted jerry can.
The exterior is painted black and covered in a brushed aluminum wrap complementing the custom black interior featuring reclining leather bucket seats, center console, a custom black walnut dashboard, glove box and tilt steering column with Nardi steering wheel. The chassis is protected with POR-15, and the truck bed is improved with dual-panel protective steel. All wiring and harnesses were replaced with modern 12V systems to power the drivetrain, lighting and creature comforts such as heat and a stereo system.
