The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in both coupé and convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph; the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. A navigation system and self-levelling xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Both come with all leather interior, burr walnut trim and side airbags. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test-drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace.
Originally registered on 1st June 2003 this Jaguar has had three former keepers. The specification of ‘one of Coventry’s finest’ is excellent, with leather trim, air conditioning, electric seats, cruise control and parking aids all fitted to this magnificent car. The impeccable service history with 11 stamps in the book confirms this to be a very well looked after example. Finished in graphite grey with ivory trim and black mohair hood, this Jaguar is fabulous to drive, with performance that is hard to describe. The 4.2 litre engine is incredibly responsive when requested, delivery of the power is smooth and progressive. Offering superb value this low mileage, low ownership it is surprising to think this XKR Convertible is 12 years old.
