The first XJ was launched in 1968 and the designation has been used for successive Jaguar flagship models ever since. The original model was the last Jaguar saloon to have had the input of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder. With the introduction of the X308 generation in 1997 came a switch from the 'XJ6' nomenclature to 'XJ8'. In 2007 the X308 was facelifted and internal designation changed to X358 with a revised front grille, deleted mid-door trim and slightly redesigned front fenders and vehicle electronics systems were updated.
First registered on 23rd September 2008 to its only owner, this stunning low mileage example of the X358 XJ is presented in Lunar Grey with contrasting Charcoal Black leather and walnut wood veneer interior. In executive specification, this six-speed automatic TDV6 with a 2.7 litre engine is the perfect combination of refinement and economy with effortless long-distance drives in a classic Jaguar silhouette. Owned from new and MoT’d annually, the car has been garaged since 2023 and upon its MoT in May of this year it was decided a recommissioning would be required, this was undertaken by local Jaguar specialists Powerbell Jaguar.
This recommissioning for which a copy of the invoice can be found in the history file and online included front track rod ends, ball joint rubbers, front and rear disks and pads, rear anti roll bar links and track control arms, new seat motors and an airbag under seat control unit to mention a few items, this all surmounting to £3,300 of work before a four wheel alignment and MoT test certificate to make sure the car is in great order for the upcoming sale.
