A new grille design and rear end treatment were the biggest visual cues to set the 1966 Thunderbird apart from the previous models. In spite of being three years into the current generation, these examples continued to sell satisfactorily for Ford. This is the last year that Ford produced a convertible Thunderbird during this era; 5,049 were assembled as such. The Ford on offer is finished in Candyapple Red with a black soft-top and interior. Power is derived from a 390-cid, 315-hp V-8 engine coupled with a Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. Standard equipment for this model year included power steering, power disc brakes and tilt steering wheel.
