This all-black 2014 Shelby GT500 convertible is essentially a brand-new car with 122 miles on the odometer. In addition to the optional Recaro leather seats, the Shelby is also equipped with a Super Snake-style hood with dual air scoops, Outlaw exhaust package, HID headlamps and white cue-ball shifter knob. In 2012, Ford’s Special Vehicle Team surprised the automotive world by unleashing the 2013-14 Shelby GT500 with a new supercharged 5.8L V-8 that developed 662 HP and 631 lb-ft of torque, the most ever for a production Mustang.
Thanks to the Tremec 6-speed manual transmission in combination with the 3.31:1 final gear ratio, the powerful Shelby GT500 was capable of a 200 MPH top speed while also avoiding the gas guzzler tax with a 24 MPG highway fuel mileage rating. Utilizing Launch Control technology, the 2013-14 Shelby GT500 covers the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at more than 125 MPH, as reported by Motor Trend magazine. From the factory, the 2014 GT500s came with an aluminum hood with air extractor, driving lights, open grille and new front splitter for improved cooling, dual exhaust with quad tips, Brembo 4-wheel disc brakes, carbon fiber driveshaft and 220 MPH speedometer.
The GT500s rolled on aluminum SVT wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. This ultra-low-mileage 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible offers the unique opportunity to acquire a rare, like-new, top-down 2014 Shelby GT500, recognized as the last Shelby Mustang that Carroll Shelby was involved with prior to his death in 2012. Ford’s SVT Performance production break-down shows that 5,730 Shelby GT500s were built for 2014; of those, only 914 were convertibles and just 303 were painted Black. The Black-Out Package on this GT500 adds an even more sinister appeal with matte black side and dual over-the-top Le Mans stripes.
