Based on a radical high-performance concept pickup that debuted at the 2019 SEMA show, the Ford F150-based Super Snake Sport Pickup joined the Shelby model range with significant demand. Recalling the wicked supercharged F-150 SVT Lightning of the early 1990s with the totally electrifying looks and performance of Shelby’s modern Super Snake Mustangs, the F150 Super Snake Pickup was built starting in 2020 along a strictly limited run of 250 examples.
Bearing Shelby’s CSM no. 22SSS0299 on the dash-mounted dedication plate, this “1 of 250” F150 Super Snake offers stunning performance potential with its Whipple-supercharged 5.0L/770 HP V-8 engine including a blue powder-coated supercharger, performance air intake and billet throttle body, paired with an automatic transmission. Handling that power is a Shelby suspension system including adjustable upper control arms, cam-alignment lower control arms, front coil overs, rear shocks, rear leaf-spring shackles and adjustable rear sway bar. Other performance highlights include a Borla/Shelby exhaust system, Baer/Shelby disc brakes with 6-piston calipers, and 22-inch diameter Shelby alloy wheels.
Built to perform with its sporting single-cab body, the Shelby exudes a sinister presence with its lowered ride height and raked stance, Carbonized Gray paint finish, black stripes and Shelby emblems. Aerodynamic improvements include a new fine-mesh grille with a thinner central insert and larger openings above and below. The bumper is taller than the original F-150 and features a smaller center vent, plus an aggressive air splitter below. The special, massively bulged hood features additional vents toward the nose. To the rear is a tonneau cover and neatly integrated spoiler.
Looking more like the interior of a sports/exotic car, the Super Snake’s interior features custom leather seats, Super Snake graphics, carbon-look trim and pretty much every passenger amenity known to mankind for a comfortable, premium-level experience consistent with the rest of this amazing all-around performer that looks and feels like its Shelby Mustang Super Snake counterpart with ample room for outsized cargo as desired.
