Since the early 1960s, the Shelby name has been synonymous with high-performance Fords. From the first Cobras to the GT350 and a host of Mustang variants thereafter, any Ford product that Carroll Shelby turned his magic touch to was transformed into a giant killer. As such, it was only a matter of time before the wizards at Shelby got their grease-stained hands on the Ford F150 pickup truck. The first generation of the F150 Shelby Super Snake pickup came in 2009. Then in 2017, Shelby revisited the concept with Ford’s latest edition.
As with all Shelby hop-ups, they first started under the hood, giving the Super Snake a 5.0L V-8 engine that benefited from a supercharger, open-air performance intake with carbon fiber intake tube, heat exchanger, billet throttle body and revised fuel injectors. The result was a race car-like 750 HP blasted out of dual Borla exhausts with polished SST tips. Of course, all that horsepower necessitated a lowered, performance suspension setup to keep those ponies on the ground and a revised exterior treatment to show the world that this is no ordinary Ford.
In addition to a four-piece Shelby body-side ground effects package, the Super Snake also boasts a dual intake Ram Air Shelby Super Snake hood, as well as functional front fender vents for increased engine cooling. The example on offer is one of these second-generation 2017 Ford F150 Shelby Super Snake pickups finished in Shelby Blue with white racing stripes and black interior. One of just 110 examples built that year, this special Shelby truck has been stored since new and has only 92 miles on the odometer. Outfitted with 22-inch Shelby retro chrome wheels, this Super Snake comes with a Shelby serialized engine plaque and an official Shelby Snake emblem on the grille.
