A superbly built, race-proven and road-legal Abarth tribute with period-correct spec, modern enhancements and real dual-purpose appeal. Originally built at Fiat’s Rivalta plant in May 1971, this 124 Spider was imported from California in 2015 and transformed into a high-performance Abarth tribute by a passionate owner, before receiving a full cosmetic and mechanical restoration. Presented in stunning Abarth Rosso, on period-correct gold Cromodoras, with freshly detailed paintwork following the removal of original signwriting – a visually striking and highly capable classic Italian racer.
Powered by a race-tuned 1608cc Lampredi twin-cam engine, built by respected Italian Twin Cam specialist, Ellegi Motori, and paired with twin Weber IDF40 carburettors, an Abarth close-ratio 5-speed gearbox, LSD, paddle clutch, and bespoke stainless exhaust. Full competition specification including roll-cage (removable), bucket seats, dash-adjustable pedal box (no servo), braided lines, and rose-jointed suspension, all while retaining MOT, road legality, tax and ULEZ exemption. Dual-purpose usability, with a quick-change setup allowing conversion from race trim to touring spec with classic sports seats and open-top comfort. Recently proven on a problem-free 1,000-mile round trip to Le Mans.
Professionally maintained and sympathetically upgraded, including a lightweight Denso-based alternator, Odyssey race battery, new fuse box and electrical service, rebuilt wiper mechanism/motor, improved fuel system, and more.
