Ferrari marked the 90th anniversary of the Scuderia Ferrari racing team with the 2019 introduction of the SF90 Stradale coupe, the most advanced Ferrari road car ever and the first flagship Ferrari since the F40 to employ an engine other than a 12-cylinder. It is also the first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in the Maranello manufacturer’s history, the first mid-engine Ferrari with all-wheel drive, and the first to use electric power steering and brake-by-wire technology. In keeping with long-held practice, a Spider version followed in 2020, the first hybrid convertible in Ferrari history.
At a mere 303 miles, this 2023 SF90 Spider is an impeccable showcase of the SF90’s astounding technological prowess. Based on a carbon fiber central monocoque with aluminum substructures, computerized Multimatic suspension and Brembo carbon ceramic disc brakes, the SF90’s sophisticated all-wheel drive hybrid drivetrain combines the most powerful V-8 engine in Ferrari history with three electric motors––one at each front wheel and one between the engine and 8-speed F1 dual-clutch automatic transmission––to generate a combined 986 HP.
Distinguished by its power retractable hardtop, this 2023 SF90 Spider’s Bianco Avus exterior finish is fully armored with matte paint protection film and accented with Scuderia fender badges. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires on 5-spoke alloy wheels over yellow painted calipers round out the exterior presentation. Ferrari Design Center and company engineers collaborated to produce the SF90’s evocative shape and details, instilling both active and passive aerodynamics (including a DRS-style rear spoiler, vortex generators and dual exhaust extractors) with extensive use of carbon fiber to produce 860 pounds of downforce at speed.
The interior appointments match the rest of the SF90 Spider for advanced development, offering Rosso leather Daytona-style seats with Nero inserts; an eManettino steering wheel with eDrive, Hybrid, Performance and Qualify drive settings; head-up display; Bluetooth; and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Access to Ferrari’s seven-year genuine maintenance program will also be transferable with the sale.
