This stunning Rosso Corsa Red 2010 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is fitted with the optional HGTE Handling Package. The Ferrari 599 with its 6.0L V-12 engine—sourced from the Enzo—produces an impressive 612 HP, enabling the car to reach a top speed of 206 MPH, accelerate from 0-60 MPH in a mere 3.3 seconds and eclipse the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 131 MPH. This Ferrari 599 is equipped with the HGTE Handling Package which added an additional $30,095 to the car’s already hefty base price of $326,730. The HGTE Package adds a sizeable amount of machismo to an already testosterone-filled Ferrari.
The package is a cohesive collection of upgraded parts focused on ultimate handling capability which consists of stiffer springs, thicker anti-roll bars, retuned shock absorbers, wider wheels, lowered ride height, retuned exhaust note and stickier Pirelli P2 tires. The HGTE package still employs the magnetorheological shock absorbers which adjust damping on command, but has recalibrated them for more aggressive cornering. Another feature of the HGTE package is the interior which has been bathed in black leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber trim.
This 599 GTB has a menacing look with its bright red paint, lowered ride height and black wheels, revealing the carbon ceramic rotors and Brembo brake calipers in the background. This 599 GTB is equipped with the Ferrari F1 Superfast Automated 6-speed transmission which enables paddle-operated lightning-quick shifts. It is significant to note that the Enzo was the benchmark of performance when Ferrari was in the design process of the 599 GTB. It was the hot lap test around the Ferrari track at Fiorano that validated the 599 GTB with recorded lap times less than 1 second shy of the Enzo.
