Channeling all that power through an updated 7-speed dual-clutch transmission featuring variable torque management, those numbers translate into what Ferrari promised was “incredibly progressive acceleration when the driver floors the throttle"—namely, a 0-60 MPH time south of 3 seconds and a top speed of 205 MPH. But, as always, it’s not just what a Ferrari can do; it’s how it does it, and that’s the magic of this 488 Spider. Rendered in 11 different aluminum alloys, the Scaglietti-built frame and outer skin were designed around the open-roof concept to supply maximum rigidity and aerodynamic efficiency respectively.
The result is a sculptured beauty combining elegant airflow management with traditional midengine Ferrari design cues. This 2017 488 Spider emphasizes both with shimmering Grigio Silverstone paint over an exquisite interior combining Rosso Ferrari leather upholstery with Grigio Chiaro special-colored stitching.
