Based on the 488 GTB, which already delivered more power than even the vaunted Enzo of the early 2000s, Ferrari’s 488 Pista embodies all the racing experience gained with the 488 Challenge and 488 GTE. Powered by the most powerful V-8 engine in Ferrari history, the 488 Pista is appropriately named after the Italian word for “track” and serves as one of the ultimate examples of road cars benefiting from the many lessons learned on the racetrack. A twin-turbocharged 3.9L V-8 engine delivers 711 BHP with almost no turbo lag, powering the car from rest to 62 MPH in 2.85 seconds.
Handling is amazing, with the 488 Pista equipped with a stunning array of lightening measures and both active and passive aerodynamic features including the front “S-duct,” 488 GTE-derived rear diffuser and static rear wing, all good for a combined 529 pounds of downforce in the few seconds it takes to reach 124 MPH.
