Introduced for 2015 as the successor to the 458 Italia, this Rosso Corsa 2018 Ferrari 488 GTB's power is delivered by a mid-rear mounted twin-turbo DOHC 3.9-liter V8 engine producing 661hp, along with a 7-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission and rear transaxle deliver 0-to-60 mph acceleration in 3.0 seconds, the quarter-mile in 10.45 seconds and a 205-mph top speed. Aerodynamics including a blown spoiler and rear vortex generators. Materials used in this example include 11 aluminum alloys and various exotic metals.
Engineering highlights include double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, magnetic suspension damping (SCM3), race-derived carbon-ceramic brakes (CCMD) and Slip Angle Control (SSC), plus tire pressure and temperature monitoring systems.
